Last Updated: January 2006

DaDaDa 411

Born-Eastern Townships region in the Province of Quebec (Canada).
Current Digs-Old Montreal, Quebec (Canada).
Birthday & Horoscope-July thus a
LEO baby! We are the sunshine of your life.
Age-Vintage Wine Years, trying to avoid turning into vinegar aspiring to get better with age like a fine porto wine.

My Background

  • The Blood - Canadian born & bred. I'm a 4th generation Canadian. My ancestry is a blend of about 50% Irish blood, and the other 50% being Scots from Ireland, and French Canadian (I'm a mutt in other words). My ancestors came to the New World during or slightly prior the Irish Great Potato Famine of the 1840's. It was 1839 when my Great Great Grand Father Thomas Dillon Sr. came to Canada. They felt for a good steak. We're still working on the project to trace our clan's Genealogy.
  • Growing Up - A hybrid. My urban roots are from my pre-teen days in Montreal and my rural-small town roots trace back to my teens and early 20's living in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Roughly 50/50 between the urban and rural roots time wise. Did elementary school on the Island of Montreal, High School in the Eastern Townships, College in the Eastern Townships. A couple of years working in Sherbrooke in my  early 20's and then off to the big city, Montreal, for work-life-university. My parents had a nice little 4 acre spread in the Eastern Townships.

My Clan

  • Parents - Dad deceased (cerebral hemorrhage, loved ya), Mom is in her golden years and needs a cane to walk following a hip replacement operation. My Dad passing on shortly after they had celebrated their 50th anniversary.
  • Siblings - 2 siblings, an older brother, an older sister. NO twin. lmao.
  • Grand parents - All deceased. They were a lively and life-loving people. I can only aspire to live to the ripe old age of 94 which my Gramma made it to! Lets hope good genetics pays off.
  • Kids - None. For any claims to the contrary LOL, I'd be quite happy to take a blood test to prove it.
  • Nephews and Nieces - From my own siblings, well just one niece, my sister's daughter. She's all grown up as I was still in elementary school when I became an uncle.
  • Aunts, Uncles, Cousins - slews! My Dad's clan was 11 kids and my Mom's 4! The big Irish Catholic family growing up on a farm scene. They've scattered widely throughout the USA and Canada and with the passage of time, many have already passed on.

The Roomie

  • Just a dog, a mutt, predominately a Black Labrador, named Nina. Born in 2000 she's a wild child with attitude, likes to scrap with her fellow canines, is high energy, and displays Labrador mushiness with people. She did some time at the SPCA where I got her from in Fall 2002 (and her name came with her, I didn't pick it) and mothered pups before I got her and had her 'fixed'. She splits time between me and my clan in the Eastern Townships.

So ... single?

  • Single, heterosexual and slightly crazy.
  • Not married, not engaged, not in a long-term relationship.
  • Yes, have previously done committed relationship ... long term girlfriends, conjoint (living-together),

So I Went To School Well, the formal edumacation anyway. The school of hard knocks dosen't had out any degrees.

    • Courses in the Certificate in Journalism / Public Relations programs at Concordia University's Institute for Continuing Education.
    • Graduate of the Montreal Radio & Television School in 2006 (six month program).
    • Undergraduate degree, Bachelor Of Commerce, John Molon School of Business @ Concordia University (Montreal, Quebec) after years of toil as an evening student. Marketing & MIS.
    • Undergraduate certificate, Computer Based Information Systems, McGill University (Montreal, Quebec).
    • College Degree, Computer Science or EDP as they called in those days, Champlain Regional College (Lennoxville, Quebec).
    • High School, Alexander Galt Regional High School (Lennoxville, Quebec).
    • In recent years have take some interest courses such as Latin Dancing, Journalism, Spanish, Personal Finances and the likes.
    • Some claim 'life is a learning experience', personal growth, 'I want to be a better person' ... oh please stuff a sock in it! You know what they say, if you want to "be all that you can be, join the Marines." For the rest of us slackers who would struggle with 500 push-ups at the break of dawn, we do this kinda stuff instead.

    My 2 CENTS

    • Miss Universe Contestant
    • Be a blood donor - you can spare the pint and someone out there really needs it.
    • Are We Having Fun Yet? - SEX is my definition of FUN! Nothing better in life than good love making. There are many fun things in life of course, but get real, love making is #1. If I'm not smiling, it means I'm not getting it enuf, and there is NO 'fun' substitute and nothing is 'fun' during a dry spell. Lots of sex = Lots of smiles! You save the planet, I need to get my game on, thank-you.
    • Keep an open mind (often this means 'agree to disagree') and oppose censorship.
    • Balance - Its a crazy, stressed out, busy world - keeping it together is never easy. Balancing lover, friends, family - work, personal growth, courses, exercise, sleep, eating, leisure activities. There's never enough time it seems for everything we want to do or be manage your time, yet learn when to give yourself a break and 'unplug'.
    • Be Spontaneous - In our well managed, over planned, over booked, technology driven chop-chop-now lives, learn to just do things 'on the fly', 'play it by ear', 'go with the flow' once in awhile - not everything has to be planned out days, weeks, months in advance. Recapture that care-free child hood feeling, the 'I got no cares in the world' feeling. Besides, its a great way to impress a lover and make her smile.
    • Do the Little Things - Take a sec to do those little things for those you care about.
    • Even us ole dogs can keep learning new tricks (they just hurt the body more than they used to)
    • Its not the final destination, its the adventure of the trip that counts (between U-Turns, Wrong Turns, bad navigation, cash problems, transport problems, detours, bad weather, you often never reach the destination anyway).
    • Support democracy - vote. Many people died in wars to preserve your rights.
    • Inspiration Mottos - "Happy Bunny" slogans.  Example: "Would You Like To Suck On a Mint? Since You Already Suck All The Time" LOL They are all great - catch the mugs, T-shirts, and what not.
    • Pets - they are man's best friend, so take good care of them, they give and need TLC
    • Ya, I'm a "dog" person - Do I look like a friggen 'cat' person? (Besides, I'm allergic to many cats)
    • Whales and Dolphins - The other sentient mammals, help them thrive.
    • Support the troops (whatever your take on Afghansitan or Iraq). I was for us going in. Turning a blind eye to dictators and bullies never worked out (remember what happened in the 30s? your school yard?) A quote from Otto Ban Bismarck, “Man cannot create the current events. He can only float with it and steer.” We want an Age Of Aquarius, but we're not not there yet.
    • Over Population - 6 billion plus and out of control. Can you say birth control? You can only squeeze so many people on this little ole chunk of rock and there are only so many resources to go around.
    • Fresh Water - Like what is the basis of our little ole existence here? Our most precious resource.
    • On Sexuality
    • Public affection - Hand holding, hugging, groping, and kissing with your lady is a good thing. When someone makes a snide comment like 'get a room', I'm having a good day and good time.
    • WOW (Sex) - Its the best thing for your complexion. Besides, its amazingly fun and pleasurable.
    • Be Freaky and Experimental - you only live once (that your sure of anyway!). Mood music, candles, incense, body lotions, massages, dressing up, body paint, different places, toys, different positions, be crazy, mix it up! Nothing spells trouble like 'routine' and 'boredom'.
    • Foreplay - Not just for your 1st time together and not just for 5 minutes either.
    • Its All Good - Consenting adults. If you both agree to try something 'out there', then its all good.
    • Jealousy - Like a big dog with 'tude, know when to put it on a short leash and muzzled.
    • On Health
    • Push it - Work the Bod, but listen to it - Target 4 or more demanding work outs/ week (when injury free and healthy).
    • Mix It - Don't just do 1 sport or activity, mix it up. Works different muscle groups, avoids injury, and you are less likely to get bored silly of your work outs and slack off.
    • Maintain it - Like your car, when something's wrong with your machine, into the garage it goes- sports medicine, physiotherapy.
    • Recover It - We don't work out to much, we under recover (borrowed from a wiser man on the topic).
    • A glass of wine a day, keeps the doctor away.
    • Drink your 8 glasses of water a day, Slurp It Up!
    • Take your vitamins - who knows what's not in our food or good-bad for you anymore? One day its good for you, the next day you read it gives you cancer or what not.
    • Losing Weight - It sucks, I love to eat. Haven't tried Atkins or South Beach diets, but I did dump 25 pounds in 2002 by using the 'grazing & gazelle' method - Change your 'lifestyle' by combining better eating with regular exercise - If its not maintainable, why bother? For weight loss, I tried this - eat more often (like 6 times a day versus the traditional 3) to avoid getting seriously 'hungry' and over-eating, eat smaller amounts (soups, yogurts, health bars, nuts, fruits, and cook or order reasonable meal portions), reduce the carbs (and I so love pasta and breads), drink lots of water, cut out the junk foods (cookies, deserts, chips, fries ... sucks, I know), take your vitamins, never skip breakfast, never eat before going to bed, and treat yourself to the 'sin' foods you love once a week.
    • Be crazy - it keeps you young and sane.
    • Laughing - It is pretty good preventive medicine.

    Wrap Up

    • Its a Good Life - To good friends, loves and lovers, whether past or present, thanks for enriching my life.
    • Do Your Own Thing - The rantings and ravings on this site, are just my view on life. So don't get your ass in trouble or do something stupid by listening to me, do your own thing, I don't need the lawsuit LOL.
    • Make a Connection - If the material provided on this site fails to satisfy your curiosity, just want to chat some more with me, or fill in some of the blanks in my grasp of things, be cool and drop me an email under "contact us" or phone me up!

    Thats It, Thats All!
